Chess, Not Checkers

The business world is a real-life version of these classic board games.

When you play checkers, you monetize too early because you want or need the income.

When you play chess, you bring free value as long as possible to build brand and a loyal following.

When you play checkers, you're looking at next week's results.

When you play chess, focusing on the short term is almost impossible.

Your vision might stretch far, but your current actions still need to get you closer to those goals.

That vision allows you to work backward and figure out what your day-to-day & month-to-month actions need to be.

Play the game, plan ahead, and stay alive as long as possible.

Sticking with the wordplay of games - just like in Survivor, you have to outwit, outplay, and outlast.
